Over the past years I’ve published 100+ editions to 150,000+ readers covering how to build, roll out, and scale internal platforms. That work continues here, but the focus is shifting.

The industry has changed. Enterprise budgets are moving to AI faster than organizations can absorb. And the pattern we keep seeing is the same: AI does not fix broken production systems. It amplifies them. The organizations that unlock real productivity gains are the ones that already have clear interfaces, deterministic workflows, and platforms underneath.

There is no enterprise AI adoption without Platform Engineering.

That is the thesis I’ll be writing about going forward. Specifically:

How Internal Developer Platforms evolve into Agentic Development Platforms. What the maturity curve from human driven to autonomous agentic development actually looks like, based on data from thousands of engineering organizations. Where the architecture boundaries are between what humans control and what agents operate. And what all of this means for how enterprises structure teams, manage risk, and ship software.

This is Platform Engineering from the trenches. I helped create this discipline, and I’m still building in it every day.
